PROJECT FUNDING BRIEF
October 13, 2026
EDUCATION · DIGITAL ACCESS · KITUI COUNTY, KENYA
Complete the Computer
Learning Center.
Kyanika Primary School
Village Child International supports underserved communities internationally through education, health and economic development. The Kyanika Computer Learning Center is one practical step toward bridging the digital divide.

The computers are donated.
Their learning space needs you.
North American Bancard (North) has donated computers. VCI has used $12,500 raised to build the structure to its current stage. Further support will help complete the center, make it usable during power outages and keep the equipment secure overnight.
What the remaining funds will support
| Finish the learning space | Complete the remaining building work so the center can safely accommodate students and equipment. |
|---|---|
| Equip the classroom | Tables, chairs and a projector to support hands-on computer learning and group instruction. |
| Keep learning through outages | Solar power with battery storage to provide dependable electricity during frequent power outages. |
| Connect students to the world | Starlink internet equipment and service to make online learning resources accessible. |
| Protect the donated computers | Lockable storage for computers at night, alongside security cameras to help protect the center. |
| Support basic sanitation | A water tank to supply the bathroom and support daily use of the facility. |
The funding gap is confirmed by VCI. Category allocations and supplier quotations are still being finalized. No value for the donated computers has been added to the reported fundraising total. Construction completion and an opening date are not implied by the funding percentage.
Help turn donated technology into everyday access.
We welcome financial support, equipment contributions and conversations with corporate and grant partners. Contact VCI to discuss a contribution toward the $22,500 remaining need.
